Who we are
Axis ("Axis", "we", "us", "our") is a private membership network and iOS application operated by Axis, registered in the United Arab Emirates. Our platform connects vetted founders and operators through private rooms, events, a curated guide library (the Vault), and a live global member map (Nodes).
This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have over it. It applies to the Axis website at onaxis.app and the Axis iOS application.
What we collect
Information you give us directly:
- Application data — name, email address, city, industry, and optionally your Instagram handle, submitted when you apply for membership
- Account information — the above, plus your membership tier and any profile details you add after joining
- Content you create — posts in rooms, Vault guides you author, events you host, and direct messages you send to other members
- Location data — your city or region, used to show your presence on the Nodes member map. We do not collect precise GPS coordinates
- Payment information — membership payments are currently processed in cryptocurrency. We record transaction confirmations for the purpose of activating and managing your membership. We do not collect or store card numbers or traditional payment credentials
Information collected automatically:
- Device type, operating system version, and app version
- Crash reports and error logs used to diagnose technical issues
- General usage patterns within the app (which sections you visit, feature interactions) — collected in aggregate, not linked to your individual profile for advertising purposes
How we use your information
We use the information we collect strictly to operate and improve Axis. Specifically:
- To review and process your membership application
- To create and maintain your account
- To operate the rooms, Vault, Nodes, Events, and member directory features
- To process your membership subscription via Stripe
- To display your city on the Nodes member map, visible to other members
- To send you essential service communications — account confirmations, membership renewals, security notices
- To diagnose bugs and improve the reliability of the app
- To enforce our membership standards and community guidelines
We do not use your data to serve you advertising. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
Who we share it with
We share your information only where necessary to operate the service:
- Blockchain networks — membership payments are made on-chain. Transaction data is public by nature of the blockchain and not within our control. We record transaction hashes solely to verify and activate your membership
- Apple — push notifications are delivered via Apple Push Notification service (APNs). No message content is stored by Apple
- Infrastructure providers — we use cloud hosting and storage services to run the platform. These providers process data on our behalf and are bound by data processing agreements
- Other members — your display name, rank, city, and any content you post in rooms or the Vault is visible to other Axis members. Direct messages are visible only to the intended recipient
We may disclose your information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights and safety of Axis, its members, or others.
Data retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your membership is active. If you cancel or are not renewed, we retain your data for a reasonable period to handle any outstanding matters, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
Application data from unsuccessful applicants is retained for a limited period to handle reapplication requests, then deleted.
Content you have posted in rooms or the Vault may remain visible to other members after your membership ends unless you request its removal.
Your rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Deletion — request that we delete your personal data, subject to any legal obligations we may have to retain it
- Portability — request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Objection — object to certain types of processing, including any direct communications
- Withdrawal of consent — where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time
If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have rights under the GDPR. If you are located in California, you have rights under the CCPA. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@onaxis.app.
Cookies and tracking
The Axis website (onaxis.app) does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking scripts. We do not use Google Analytics or similar services. No data from your visit to this website is shared with advertising networks.
The Axis iOS application does not use advertising identifiers (IDFA). Crash reporting and diagnostic data is collected solely for the purpose of maintaining service reliability.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS). Access to member data is restricted to authorised personnel only.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If you have reason to believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at privacy@onaxis.app.
Children
Axis is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a minor has submitted an application or created an account, we will delete that information promptly.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify active members via the app or by email. Continued use of Axis after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
We aim to respond to all requests within 30 days.
